Applications

Sidense technology has been designed into a wide range of applications that require a secure, reliable, cost-effective and dense embedded NVM technology. Such applications include: digital consumer, mobile and wireless, analog trim and calibration, boot code and firmware, medical, automotive, chip ID, programmable timing solutions and configurable processors.

Many integrated circuits contain analog and mixed-signal elements which must be tuned due to variations in the device manufacturing process. Sidense NVM is applied in those cases for configuration data and analog trimming.

Application OTP Usage Product Sidense Advantage
HDMI HDCP key storage HD DVD and Blu-ray players, digital set-top boxes, HDTV Secure - no reverse engineering. Small footprint for lower end product costs
Wireless, RFID and medical Configuration data, product information, calibration Mobile phones, Bluetooth, wireless audio, RFID tags, hearing aids and medical implantable devices 80% lower power allows for greater RFID read range and smaller batteries in medical implantable equipment. 50% smaller than alternatives allows for lower end product costs
Microcontrollers and DSP Boot code and firmware Automotive, building control, industrial, digital cell phones, wireless base stations, DSL and cable modems Access times < 10ns for high performance applications. Densities up to 8Mb for larger boot code and firmware requirements
Analog devices, power management Analog trimming, calibration Automotive, DAC/ADC, display drivers, digital audio, telecom, communications Small footprint, low power, reliable
